Oxnard Root Canal
If you have a tooth that has infected or damaged pulp in its center, you will need to have a root canal treatment. At Oxnard Dental, our expert dentist will provide you with an
Oxnard root canal; just one of our expert dentists is Dr. Shawn Rabizadeh.
There are different dental situations that can lead up to a patient needing to have an
Oxnard root canal. If a tooth has decay which is not treated, eventually the decay will reach the center of the tooth and the tooth pulp will become infected. Tooth trauma can also cause the tooth pulp to become damaged. Eventually damaged tooth pulp will lead to infection. In any of these cases, it is important that you have a root canal procedure in order to save the tooth. If a root canal procedure is needed, but is not provided, the condition of the tooth will only worsen. A tooth which needs a root canal but does not get it, will eventually fall out on its own. However, in order to rid the mouth of infection, and to keep the patient comfortable, our dentist will most likely recommend that the tooth is immediately extracted if it is evident that the tooth cannot be saved with a root canal treatment. Sometimes a tooth has become so damaged that a root canal treatment will not be effective, and should not be performed. There are certain symptoms you may have which will indicate that you have a tooth that has damaged or infected pulp. Your tooth may become painful when you eat something that is hot or cold. Teeth that are damaged in this manner are often sensitive when pressure is placed upon them. If a tooth cannot be saved with a root canal treatment, the tooth can be replaced with a dental bridge or dental implant at our office.
